Learning Vocabulary:
Compose: To change a smaller unit for an equivalent of a larger unit.
Decompose: To change a larger unit for an equivalent of a smaller unit.
Fractional Unit: Any fraction with 1 as the numerator.
Whole: All of.
Fraction: A number of that is not a whole number.
Improper Fraction: The numerator is greater than the denominator.
Mixed Number: A number made up of a whole number and a fraction.
Numerator: The top number in a fraction.
Denominator: The bottom number in a fraction.
Common Denominator: When 2 or more fractions have the same denominator.
Equivalent Fractions: Fractions that name the same size or amount.
Line Plot: Display of data on a number line, using an X to mark frequency.
Benchmark: Numbers we know that we can use to help locate other fractions/numbers.
