Welcome to what is sure to be another great year here at Paseo Hills.
Hello! I am Mrs. Christean. I have been teaching Kindergarten since 2010 and I love my job! I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age and consider myself lucky to get to experience this school year with you and your child.
I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and soon found my passion for teaching English Language Learners. I am always inspired by the motivation that these young learners show and love celebrating their successes throughout the school year and beyond.
I am happily married and we have a son who is happy, sweet, and full of life. As the school year continues, I look forward to us getting a chance to learn more about each other and forming a great partnership as we help your child succeed!
In our class, we have four simple rules that we refer to daily as our Kindergarten Promise. This promise helps ensure all students feel welcome, included, and safe to try new (sometimes hard) things while learning.
We listen to the teacher.
We keep our hands and our feet to ourselves.
We follow directions quickly.
We use kind words and actions.
Our ROCKS Expectations
Our Kindergarten students will also be expected to demonstrate an understanding of our school-wide rules referred to as our ROCKS Expectations. This ensures all students take their part in our bigger school community and know how a Rattler ROCKS!
Breakfast is optional in the cafeteria from 8:15-8:45 each morning. Families must drop their child off in the cafeteria in order to receive breakfast. Please notify me, if your child is a morning bus rider and will be eating breakfast at school to ensure proper arrangements are made.
Students eat lunch in the cafeteria daily. You may provide a lunch from home or get a school lunch. See menus here.
*Please note: There is no allotted snack time in our daily schedule.
Specials Schedule
Our Specials schedule changes weekly. Please be sure to refer to this schedule as needed.
*Reminder: Students MUST wear tennis shoes on P.E. weeks in order to participate safely.
Library
We go to library once a week unless there is no school or the library is closed for a school event.
Kindergarten students will have the opportunity to check out a new library book each week. Please help teach your child responsibility by caring for our books at home and by returning them on time.
