Welcome/About the Teacher

I’m Jerry Slawson. I grew up and attended college in Texas, starting at Sam Houston State University (Bearkats!) before transferring to Stephen F. Austin State University (Lumberjacks!), where I earned both my BSEd and MEd. After teaching for two years in Texas, I moved to Phoenix with a friend and during my first week here, I met my future wife while playing volleyball with her group of friends. Over 20 years later, we’re happily married with two amazing kids. My son earned his Electrical Engineering degree from ASU, and my daughter is studying medical sciences (with a minor in French) at ASU. She even had the opportunity to study abroad in Lyon, France—Go Devils!

In addition to two years of teaching in Texas, I’ve spent over 27 years teaching here in Phoenix.

Alongside my teaching duties, I also serve as the Athletic Director and I’m ready for Paseo to bring home a championship banner!
